Moyosore Sadiq-Soneye

Principal Counsel

Moyosore is the Principal Counsel of Mo’s Law Office. Her practice areas include immigration law, mental health law and notary public services.

Moyosore has always been passionate about law, looking up to her father who is a lawyer, it was very natural for her to decide to be a lawyer herself. She has served the public as a Civil Servant, first in the capacity of Senior State Counsel at the Ministry of Justice, Lagos State, Nigeria and then in an Administrative Capacity as Court and Client Representative at the Ontario Public Service, Ontario, Canada. Her legal experience extends across many areas of practice.

Moyosore has served as an Adjudicator with the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), where she adjudicated refugee protection claims from individuals originating from over 40 countries. In this role, she was responsible for conducting hearings, assessing evidence, applying Canadian refugee law and jurisprudence, and rendering independent, reasoned decisions on complex protection matters. This experience has further strengthened her expertise in immigration, administrative law, procedural fairness, credibility assessments, and decision-making.

She has obtained multiple legal trainings on Alternative Dispute Resolution: Mediation and continues to improve herself daily. Moyosore has been a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association since 2012, she is a Member of the Ontario Bar, Canada and a Notary Public in Ontario.

As an immigrant herself, she knows first hand the emotional stress that comes with Immigration Law. She seeks to understand each client and their unique legal needs. At this firm, Clients are not file numbers.

Having worked at the Office of the Administrator-General and Public Trustee and Estates department, Moyosore has experience dealing with the vulnerable in society and matters requiring the utmost care and discretion.
